Principal Investigator

Dr. Ainara Sangroniz obtained her Bachelor in Chemistry (2014) and Master in Polymers (2015) from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She was Awarded a PhD grant from the Basque Government to pursue her PhD at UPV/EHU and POLYMAT. During her PhD thesis she worked on the development of sustainable packaging materials for the food packaging sector focusing on the structure-properties relationships. She defended her PhD on 2020 and she was awarded the Extraordinary PhD Award by the University of the Basque Country and the CAF-Elhuyar Award.

In 2021 she moved to Colorado State University to work in the Group of Prof. Eugene Y.X. Chen and develop chemically recyclable polymers. She obtained the prestigious Marie Curie Individual Fellowship from the European Union to pursue her research at Colorado.
